Blazer boys shut out Newcastle

NEWCASTLE – Ethan Creagar knocked through two goals, propelling the Torrington Trailblazers boys soccer team to a 2-0 shut out win on the road against Newcastle on Tuesday.
The Blazers got a lot of looks at the goal, but Creagar was the only Torrington boy to find the back of the net. The two goals against Newcastle were the first goals of the young season for Creagar. One of his goals came on an assist from Devin Flores.

“I thought we played well, especially in the second half,” coach Jeshua Arnusch said. “We just had a hard time hitting shots but we did get plenty of good looks.”
Tyler Ring spent all 80 minutes in the goal and pitched the shutout, racking up six saves. In five games so far this year, Ring has allowed only two goals, recording three shutouts.
“Overall, I was pleased getting out of Newcastle with a win and we have a better idea of what to work on going forward,” Arnusch said.
The Blazer boys have an unblemished record this spring (5-0). In the most recent WyoPreps rankings, Torrington is tied with Cody for the top spot. The Blazers are set to head to Worland for the weekend for the Pinnacle Challengers Cup Tournament, opening play against Star Valley at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Also on Friday, Torrington plays either Newcastle or Worland.
