TORRINGTON – Fans got their first look at this year’s Eastern Wyoming College Lancers and Lady Lancers at the black and gold night Tuesday at the Verl Petsch Jr. Activities Center.

The night started with a three-point contest, pitting the men against the women. The men pulled out the win, 71-70, with Walker Korell as the top men’s shooter and Lauren O’Connell as the top women’s shooter.

The Lady Lancers then had a 10-minute intersquad scrimmage, followed by the dunk contest for the men. Rhythm Ajanku, Jonathan Morrobell, Walker Korell and Nick Holmes were the four representatives in the dunk contest. In the finals, Korell’s score of 34 bested Morrobell’s 18, to win the title. Korell also won the title last year as well.

Following the dunk contest, fans put their skills to the test, competing in a knockout game. Then the Lancers got their blood flowing in a 15-minute intersquad scrimmage.

The men and women both kick off their seasons Nov. 1 at home against Casper College. The Lady Lancers start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Lancers at 7:30 p.m.
