TORRINGTON – A memorial service for Betty Lou (Laybourn) Fales, 83, who died April 24, 2017, at Goshen Healthcare Community, will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Lifeway Church, 1701 East F St., with Pastor Cody Dyer officiating. Cremation has already taken place and a private family inurnment will be later. A memorial has been established to Don Mathis Ministry care of East Gate Baptist Church or Valley Christian School.
Betty was born March 24, 1934, at Joes, Colo., to Albert and Eldora (Burkhard) Laybourn. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1951. On Jan. 25, 1951, she married Norval Fales in Scottsbluff, eb. Her hobbies included reading, Bible study, walking, and traveling the back roads. She was a member of Lighthouse Church.
Survivors include children: Sally Houx (Jay) of Wheatland, Joe Fales of Torrington and Susan Walker (David) of Torrington; grandchildren: Nathan Anderson (Stefanie), Janey Blum (James), Ashley Anderson, Brian Fales (Amy), Todd Walker, Emma Walker, Jill Burd; and great-grandchildren: Ella Reese Anderson, Allison Taylor Blum, Karson Thomas Norval Anderson, Ashlynn Lea Blum, Harper Remington Fales, Avery Moline and Dailee Moline.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters: Donna and Jane.
