TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Library will be hosting story time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. “Read a story. Do a craft. Make friends.”

 

TORRINGTON – The Knights of Columbus will be hosting Monday night bingo in the St. Rose social hall located at 22nd and F Street in Torrington. Games start at 6:30 p.m.

 

TORRINGTON – Lifeway Church in Torrington started “Connect,” a family night with a free meal, Bible studies and activities for all ages. Connect is every Wednesday night, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited, regardless of church affiliation.

 

TORRINGTON – Goshen County Right to Life meets the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Lighthouse Ministries, 3802 Hot Springs Street in Torrington. Call Jan at 307-575-2069 for more information.

 

TORRINGTON – The American Legion, 2102 Main Street in Torrington, is holding a steak feed the first Friday of every month at 6 p.m. Bingo at the American Legion is every Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

 

TORRINGTON – Cornhole leagues are Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. at the Torrington Elks Lodge. Drinks and food are available, and warm up begins at 6 p.m. Registration fee is $15 per person. Teams may register up to the day of the event or until full. Weekly brackets and open play to follow until 9 p.m., $2 a game. TORRINGTON – VFW Post 2918: The Vet’s Lounge is now open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All veterans, and anyone related to a veteran, are invited to stop in and enjoy coffee and snacks. There is a good movie library, book library, and pool table. Stop in, take a look and hang out. If you have an immediate need, call the VA in Cheyenne 877-222-VETS (8387) or 800-827-1000. Torrington now has two chair lifts and is handicap accessible. Monthly meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. All members of the VFW are invited to attend.

 

TORRINGTON – VFW Post 2918: Breakfast is served the first Sunday of each month from 7:30-10:30 a.m. for $8. Open to the public.

 

TORRINGTON – Girl Scouts Troop 1209 meets every Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the V.F.W Hall 925, located at W. 25th Ave. For more information, contact Charisse Eaton 307-575-1807.

TORRINGTON – The Southeast Wyoming Art Association meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. in the Torrington Senior Friendship Center. Please call 307-640-4002 for more information.

 

TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Democratic Party will be holding monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at Deacon’s Restaurant at noon. Everyone is welcome!

 

August

 

TORRINGTON – Goshen Community Theatre presents “Charlotte's Web.” Auditions will be held Aug. 30-31 at 6:30 p.m. in the EWC Auditorium. A pre-audition workshop will be held Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. in the EWC Choir Room. The theatre is in search of both youth and adult thespians for the production.

 

September

 

SUNRISE – A fundraiser street dance will be held on Sep. 3 from 7-10 p.m. Proceeds will go to the 1927 fire truck and the remainder will go towards other Sunrise preservation projects. Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Those under 21 are not permitted to attend the event. John Voight will provide entertainment for the event.

 

TORRINGTON – The Friends of the Library are holding a membership drive at the Goshen County Library Sep. 7-8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cards sell for $15 for individuals (one card) and $40 for businesses (three cards). Membership benefits include early access to the three Library Foundation Book Sales held throughout the year.

 

TORRINGTON – Brant Audiology and Tinnitus of Casper, Cheyenne, Torrington and Wheatland will be hosting a cochlear implant meet n’ greet for southeastern Wyoming and western Nebraska residents on Sept. 10 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Berean Bible Church, 2002 East D Street in Torrington. Refreshments will be provided. All CI recipients, potential CI candidates and their families are invited to ask questions, share experiences and meet new friends in the hearing loss community. Bring any CI accessories you want to practice with.

 

TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Library will feature a car show-themed Lego Day on Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. in conjunction with the Scottsbluff Valley Street Rods Classic Cars on Main Street event.

 

TORRINGTON – Scottsbluff Valley Street Rods will host Classic Cars on Main Street on Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will take place between 19th and 21st Avenue in Torrington.

HAWK SPRINGS – The Hawk Springs Fire Protection District will hold an election for one board member position on Nov. 8, 2022. Polling will take place at the Hawk Springs Community Hall. The district board member position term is four years. Candidates shall file with the district an application for election to be considered for the ballot. Lonny Luke, board chairman, and Mac Sussex, board treasurer, are to be contacted by interested parties.

TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Library Foundation will hold the October Used Book Sale from Oct. 1-15 at the Library Activity Center. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friends of the Library members receive early access on the first day of the sale, beginning at 9 a.m. New items will be added to the shelves as donations arrive. The full-price sale is Oct. 1-7, the half-price sale is Oct. 8-11, and the $10 bag sale is Oct. 12-15
