TORRINGTON – The Southeast Wyoming Art Association had a very successful art show, judged by Michelle Denton, a part-time professional artist and teacher of art from Mitchell, Neb. Forty-three artists from eight different communities entered with a total of more than 100 exhibits. Blue, red, white, and honorable mention ribbons were given in each category within each class.
Denton awarded the Best of Show to a piece of felting by Donna Thompson, and named a photograph of a kitten by Karen Greenly as Judge’s Choice. The viewing public voted a tri-piece painting of mountains by Georgia Allen tied with a drawing portrait of The Walking Dead by Taryn Platt as People’s Choice.
The following artists received blue ribbons:
Teen: Taryn Platt, Regin Walford, Matt Garcia
Amateur: Ashleigh Grooms
Advanced Amateur: Jane Dorn, Cheryl Wilkinson, Andy Andrews
Professional: Mildred Wright, Evelyn Smith, Mary Ellen Neff, Donna Thompson, Emma Jean Stricker
