TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Arlene V. Feagler, 88, will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Arlene died at her home on February 26, 2019. 

Memorials may be given to First Congregational Church or to the Therapy Department at Heritage Estates. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and the casket will be closed at the church. Arlene was born April 24, 1930, in Orchard, Colo., to Rhinehold and Sophia (Eisenbarth) Weickum. Her family moved to Torrington when she was young and she attended school in Torrington, graduating high school there. She then attended Business School in Denver, Colo., before returning to Torrington where she worked for Holly Sugar. 

She married LeRoy Feagler on Feb. 5, 1950, in Torrington. She served as the farm secretary and bookkeeper and raised her family.

Arlene enjoyed reading, handwork, gardening, yardwork and babysitting her granddaughter. She was a member of First Congregational Church, the Friendly Society at the church and several Bible study groups.

Arlene is survived by four daughters, Connie (Dennis) Schliske of Virginia Beach, Va., Deborah James of Torrington, Jacque (Paul) Howard of Aurora, Colo., and Julie (Ric) Harshman of Denver; two sons, Stephen (Debi) Feagler and Jeffrey (Mimi) Feagler all of Torrington; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; four sisters, Edna Deines, Margaret Deines, Gertrude Beierle and Verona Weickum; three brothers, Rhiney Weickum, Calvin Weickum and Stanley Weickum; a granddaughter; and a grandson Andrew Schliske.
