THERMOPOLIS – Guernsey VFW Post and Auxiliary 4471 members, Willis “Bill” and Pam Cain, of Ft. Laramie, were installed as Department of Wyoming VFW Commander and Department of Wyoming VFW Auxiliary President on June 11 at the 84th Department of Wyoming Convention in Thermopolis.
Willis obtained membership in the VFW after serving in Balad, Iraq in 2004-2005 with the MI Army National Guard and has served the VFW in several positions at the local, district and state level. Bill retired from the Wyoming Army National Guard as a SFC in August 2016 after 37+ years of service.
Pam joined the VFW Auxiliary under the eligibility of Bill in 2006 and has also served in several positions within the VFW Auxiliary at the local, district and state level. Their theme this year is “We Serve Together.”
It began when Bill went overseas, as the family serves along with the soldier and now as serving together as Commander and President for the State of Wyoming. They believe the Post and Auxiliary should serve and work together for Veterans, active Military and their Families.
Their year will start off at the VFW National Convention in New Orleans in July. Bill is also serving as the Sr. Vice Commander at VFW Post 4471 and Pam is the current VFW Auxiliary President. They currently reside in Ft Laramie with their dog, Norman.
