GOSHEN COUNTY – Members of the Goshen County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team met for their annual meeting and presented service awards.
After a short meeting to discuss a new patch design, there were three members recognized for their service to the program and community.
SAR Director Lou Hubbs was recognized for his dedication to the organization for more than 20 years serving on SAR as well as with fire and emergency medical services. Co-Director Jerry Numon was recognized for 10 years for his involvement with SAR as well as being a certified K-9 handler and instructor.
Galan Alexander was recognized for 10 years as the search and
rescue Santa.
Numon previously served with North Big Horn County Search and Rescue beginning in 2004. Before his involvement in the North Big Horn County SAR, Numon spent another 25 years in volunteer fire and rescue, dive and rescue and swift water rescue.
The team participates in searches throughout Goshen County as well as in the surrounding areas and out of state.
Following the presentation of awards, Numon spoke to the group about the upcoming trainings and how they will use the experience of previous calls to prepare the members for future calls.
The group enjoyed a dinner and participated in a white elephant gift exchange to conclude the meeting.
