HAWK SPRINGS – The 20th annual Hawk Springs Goose Cook-off is set for Saturday, March 10, at the Community Building here.
Judges will select the best goose cookers in each of four categories: Main dish, soup or chili, appetizers and jerky. First place in each category will receive $150.
Judging begins at 4:30 p.m. with the doors opening for public sampling at 5:30 p.m. Free-will donations will be accepted at the door.

The evening events will include a live auction, a gun raffle and drawing for a get-away package to Deadwood, S.D., which includes
$200 cash.
Proceeds from the event help fund community projects. Funds from the 2017 goose cook-off helped pay for street signs, a basketball court at the Community Building and purchased trees which were planted around town.
To register for the cook-off competition, contact Linda Wesch at (307) 640-1742 or online at www.goosecookoff.com. For more information, contact Tim Toedter at
