Alice Eusebia (Holland) Dapra died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 13 in Fort Collins, Colo., at the age of 98.
Alice was born to Aloysius D. and Margaret (Ronayne) Holland at their farm near Putney, S.D. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1937 and moved to Minnesota in 1939, where she attended the College of St. Benedict.
Alice married John Fred Dapra, of Sunrise Oct. 15, 1949. They made their home near Hartville where Alice remained until she moved to Fort Collins, Colo. in 2013.
Alice was a member of the St. Anthony Altar & Rosary Society and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. An avid crocheter, she also was a member of the Homemakers Club and a local needlework group.
Preceding Alice in death were her husband of 58 years; her parents; an infant brother; two sisters Dorothy (Lawrence) Heister and Adelaide (Ens) Essila; and a son-in-law, Alfred Roberts.
She is survived by her eight children: Steven Dapra, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Susan (David) Jackson, of Moreno Valley, Calif.; Margaret (Marc) Provencher, of Fort Collins, Colo.; Daniel Dapra, of Columbus, Ohio; Anne (Mike) Garrison, of Glendale, Ariz.;  Miriam Dapra, of Hartville; Joseph (Miriam) Dapra, of Belton, Mo.; and Paul Dapra, of Gillette; also 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Neil (Mary) Essila, of Paradise, Calif.
A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Guernsey. The Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m., also at St. Anthony’s. Burial will follow at the Hartville Cemetery, Hartville.
All are welcome to partake in a luncheon immediately following the burial, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
