AccuScreen Mobile Drug Testing open for business

TORRINGTON – Businesses with mandated random drug testing will now have a local venue to administer the tests. AccuScreen Mobile Drug Testing of Torrington opened its doors Monday, Oct. 26, and owners Travis and Stacy Norton are excited to get started.

Their operation will be offering a walk-in clinic, urine test, hair follicle tests and breath-alcohol tests. Not only will they be offering in-house operations, but also mobile operations.

The Nortons explained that if operators of commercial motor vehicles are involved in accidents, they are obligated by law and company policies to report drug and alcohol testing. In the event of an accident, the Nortons would respond to the accident’s location, or wherever it is practical, to administer the tests required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Travis told The Telegram, drivers must belong to a consortium. AccuScreen offers consortium services, and drivers can register with AccuScreen Mobile Drug Testing to maintain compliance with FMCSA rules.

Travis is a former Colorado State Trooper and truck driver. He said his combination of training and experience provides him with an excellent foundation to establish the business.

His family has always been self-employed, he said. A friend informed him of the opportunity years ago, and he wishes he would have jumped on it then. Regardless, he is accomplishing these aspirations now.

Travis said he loves working with people and loves being around people. He discussed plans of working with other local private businesses and public government organizations to accomplish both the company’s goals and provide services to the area.

“It’s all about family,” Travis said.

Travis and Stacy’s son-in-law, Austin Kinsey Travis, will be joining the team, as well, very soon. Kinsey is currently working on his certification. Travis is thrilled at the opportunity to get to work closely with his family.
