COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Mr. Aaron Lee Dunlap, age 36, of Colorado Springs, Colo., departed this life on April 2, 2017.
He was born at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 1980 in Chadron, Neb., to the proud parents Melvin L. and Sharon E. Dunlap.  He was the first born of fraternal twins along with his sister Andrea Marie and followed by his brother Melvin Lee II.
The family relocated to Leavenworth, Kan., in 1982 where he attended Ben Day and Nettie Hartnett elementary schools. The family again relocate to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1992 where he attended Horace Mann Middle School and subsequently graduated from Palmer High School in 1998.
Upon graduation, he attended Pikes Peak Community College Deaf Prep Program for certified sign language interpreters. He also attended Kansas City Community College Climate Control Technology Program.
During Aaron’s journey through life, he pursued career opportunities in building maintenance with Colorado Springs School District 2, Colorado Springs School District 20, Memorial Hospital, and Wal Mart.
In his leisure time pursuits, Aaron enjoyed basketball, swimming, video games, movies, an avid joke teller, and genuinely enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Aaron refuse to allow his illness to impede his ability to live life to the fullest.
Aaron enjoyed volunteering for such organizations as the Sertoma Club and Colorado Special Olympics where he helped both juvenile and adults with special need for more than a decade.
Aaron embodies an attitude and action that typify those attributes (i.e., integrity, competence, team-work, reliability, dependability, and unconditional loyalty) associated with success. When we look back at Aaron’s legacy, we feel so very proud to have him as son because he was the perfect example of how we all ought to live. We love you so very much, and may God bless you until such time that we meet again.
He is survived by his parents Melvin and Sharon Dunlap of Colorado Springs; his twin sister Andrea of Lakewood, Colo.; his brother Melvin II of Colorado Springs; and his girlfriend Maria Garza and their unborn child of Colorado Springs.
He is being welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents Willie Lee Dunlap, Mary Juanita Moore, and Franklin Earl Moore.
