TORRINGTON – Regional bronc riders are expected to draw another huge crowd to Torrington on Saturday, Jan. 6, when the Western States Ranch Rodeo Association annual event opens in the Pavilion at the Goshen County Fairgrounds.
Eastern Wyoming College students as well as cowboys from the Wheatland area will be among the 35 ranch bronc riders competing for cash and prizes on Bad Medicine bucking horses.
According to Naomi Loomis, regional representative of the WSRRA, riders are coming from seven states.

“We’ve been working on this one since right after last year’s event,” Loomis said Saturday morning in a telephone interview from her home near Alliance, Neb. “This is our fourth year in Torrington, and last year we had about 800 to 850 people there. It was about the same the year before, too.
“This is a show you will want to bring your whole family to,” Loomis added. “You will be able to cheer your favorite cowboy/cowgirl on and shop cowboy vendors, too, for everything from tack to clothing.”
A dance will wrap up the evening, with music provided by Christopher Thomas and the Branded Band. Concessions and the beer garden will be provided by mmmGoodCatering.
Tickets will be $10 at the gate. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m.
Sponsors include: KNEB, Double A Feeds, Inc., Four Three Land & Cattle, Chaz Mitchell Custom Hats, Hatch Tack, Chugwater Chili Corp., Happy Hollow Ranch, 8 Seconds Whiskey, Rocking Anchor Ranch, Yeti Coolers, J Bar D Canvas, Brindle Saddle Shop, Harnish Vet Clinic, Laramie Peak Veterinarian, Allens Part Service, 1st State Bank, Wheatland Country Store, R & B Builders, Cow Camp Saddlery, Americas Best Value Inn, S & K Country Boutique, Salt Creek Saddlery, and Cureton Western Engraving.
