The Torrington High School Lady Blazers squared off against conference rival Newcastle this afternoon at the Old Wiseman Field. Newcastle scored three goals early in the first half to remain in the lead until the end of regulation.
The Torrington defense stepped up the intensity in the second half, completely shutting out Newcastle from scoring.
A tenacious and relentless Lady Blazer offense launched repeated attacks into Newcastle territory throughout the second half, culminating in a goal kicked in by sophomore Kennedi Blevins. Sophomore Macy Tremain made the assist.
Torrington's exceptional second half against Newcastle established positive momentum for the team as they prepare to play Buffalo on Saturday.
